Choirs and Ensembles

Join and sing to the glory of God and the edification of His sons and daughters!


Description and Information:

Parishioners that would like to sing for Mass without at weekly commitment.
Sign up to sing for a particular 9:00am Sunday Mass (if it is an ordinary Sunday.)
Attend the 8:15am warmup on the Sunday at which you wish to sing at Mass.
Note: This group does not sing for any Feast Days.

After signing up to participate in the Cantabile Singers, you will receive a weekly email requesting singers to participate for the upcoming 9:00am Sunday Mass (if the Cantabile Singers are scheduled to sing) which will be sent no later than the Wednesday beforehand by 5:00pm. Please respond to that email acknowledging your intent to sing by no later than Saturday (day before) at noon. From there, please attend the warmup rehearsal at 8:15am before the 9:00am on that Sunday.

Who:
Anyone

Join the St. Monica Choir and pray for conversions, as well as sing to the glory of God and edification of His sons and daughters!


Description and Information:

Sings for special feast days throughout the year, typically at the 9:00am Mass
Weekly Thursday night rehearsals, 7:00 to 9:00pm

Focus:
Chant Antiphons
Simple to challenging motets
4-part harmonization of hymns
Seasonal Mass settings in 4-part harmony with descants
Praying for the conversion of the world

Who:
Men and women, ages 18 and older

Volunteer Opportunities:
Choir members are encouraged to step up and help the choir in different roles.

Join and sing or play to the glory of God and edification of His sons and daughters!


Description and Information:
Sings or plays normally for the 11:00am Sunday Mass and other special occasions
Weekly Wednesday night rehearsals at 7:00pm.

Focus:
Sacred songs appropriate for the Holy Mass
Regular Mass settings

Who:
Men and women, ages 18 and older

Wednesday evening rehearsals
Monthly singing followed by snacks, fun and games in the park or in the school library (if rainy outside)

Who:
Boys and Girls, ages 5 - 17

Musical Focus:
Antiphons
Hymns
Regular Mass Setting
Simple 2 part Motets
Friendship, Virtue, Discipline, Musicianship, Liturgy, the Holy Mass, the Saints.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Parents are needed to volunteer to make this a success!
Note: Virtus and Protecting God's Children certification required to work with the children

Sings for a few special feast days throughout the year.
Rehearsals occur a few weeks before the Mass is scheduled

Men and Women, ages 18 and older, with strong music skills and talent

Volunteer Opportunities:
Schola members are encouraged to step up and help the group in different roles.

Join the Cantors of St. George and lead the congregation in song, as well as sing to the glory of God and for the edification of His sons and daughters!


Description and Information:

Sings for solos, duets and trios during special Feast Days throughout the year
Cantor for the Saturday 4:00pm and Sunday 7:00am Mass

Focus:
Leading in every way by singing and praying in full, active participation as a cantor to lead the people of God in worship

Who:
Men and women, ages 15 and older

Description and Information
:
Musicians playing for special Masses and Parish Events

  • Sign up - Choose which Masses you want to fill the instrumental position required for that Mass
  • Show up - Go to a set number of rehearsal(s) to play for the Mass or special event (i.e. Corpus Christi Procession)

Focus:
Music varies in arrangement

Who:
Any instrumentalist welcome

Description and Information:
Instruction given either individually or in a group setting to both youth and adults.
Certain openings available on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The Mustard Seed Program will be using the free app and website program www.musictheory.net

Focus:
Any musical struggle - counting, tone matching, music notation, rhythm, etc.

Who:
Anyone interested in improving in vocal, instrumental or musical ability with the intent of joining a choir or ensemble at Holy Trinity Parish

Where:
Holy Trinity - St. Gabriel's Music Office

Purpose:
The Big Mustard Seed Program will help adults enter any adult choir.
The Little Mustard Seed Program will help children enter the SMAC Choir.


Note: The Mustard Seed Program is led by our Music Director, Mr. Richard Kochel. Although the Mustard Seed Program does not require a fee to participate, donations are requested from participants to help support Music Ministry at the Parish.
