Hello! My name is Melanie Marcotte and I am the 8th grade teacher at Holy Trinity. Aside from my duties as the 8th grade homeroom teacher, I teach Religion, Course III Math, 7th Grade Language Arts and 8th Grade Language Arts. Teaching at the middle school level can be both fun and challenging!
Currently I am interested in running. It's a new interest, but it's really growing on me. Recently I have run the Shamrock Shuffle 8K and the Race to Wrigley 5K. Racing allows me to stay healthy and fit and is a great release of energy! I will be running the Chicago Blackhawks 5K at the end of September along with a few other races in October and November.
My philosophy on education boils down to one main idea: allowing children to become lifelong learners. My classroom is an environment with mutual respect and understanding - once these two things have been learned, students can feel free to participate in discussions and share ideas with me and their classmates.
I am excited for the school year! I look forward to working with each of you this year.
-Ms. Melanie Marcotte
