Kindergarten:

The Kindergarteners started the year off learning about lines, they did a beautiful line abstract drawing by taking a line for a walk. They learned and created their own primary and secondary colored mouse book. The students also have been exploring watercolors and mixed media. Kindergarteners next art project will create colorful collages inspired by Eric Carle.

Primary Grades:

The primary grades started the year off learning about texture and patterning. They created textures Durer inspired Rhino, bug in the rug and a patterned beach ball. They did a fantastic job. They learned and created the color wheel. The primary grades created colorful collages inspired by Paul Cezanne. They constructed torn paper apple composition, and crayon patterned designed wallpaper. Students painted colorful trees of life inspired by Gustav Klimt. The primary grades also created a texture monster using a variety of different lines inspired by "Where the wild things are" book. They created a Christmas Humbug collage inspired by the book, "A Christmas Humbug". They were so proud of their humbugs.

Middle Grades:

Our middle grades started the year off learning about elements of design texture and patterning. They created their own name design out of bubble letters and informal patterns. They studied the color theory and created a color wheel by mixing different color clay. They also created colorful collage witches inspired by Picasso cubism. They did an awesome job designing and painting masks. They learned how to use oil pastels and draw candy canes with the medium.

Upper Grades:

The Upper Grades started the year exploring various materials and techniques of Elements of design. They experimented with pastel and drew beautiful candy canes composition. They learned about the Japanese Art of paper folding in beautiful snowflakes. They also made colorful 3-D masks out of paper. Students painted glass jars using and exploring a variety of different painting techniques.
