Holy Trinity School Board

The School Board is an advisory group to the Principal of Holy Trinity School. The purpose is to promote excellence in education, to promote the implementation of educational policies, and to develop the means to finance the educational programs by adopting and identifying the funding for sources for the annual school budget.

Chris Riedl - President

Chris Riedl has been a member of the Holy Trinity School Board since September 2014. In addition to serving on the School Board, Chris writes the School Scoop for the parish bulletin and is also a Eucharistic Minister. Chris, along with her husband Steve, and their two children, Jack (Class of 2013) and Jason (Class of 2020), have been parishioners of Holy Trinity since 2003.

Recently retired, Chris has 30 years of experience in project management and product development in the insurance industry and most recently was the Assistant Vice President of Product Strategy & Management at Aetna, one of the nation's leading health care benefits companies.

Chris graduated summa cum laude from Loyola University of Chicago with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. She holds a Health Insurance Associate and Managed Healthcare Professional designation and is licensed with the State of Illinois as a Life, Accident & Health Insurance Producer. Chris and her family reside in Westmont.

Finn M Head Shot 132.jpg Finn McLaughlin-Dobbins - Vice President

Finn McLaughlin-Dobbins joined the Holy Trinity School Board in January 2018.  Finn, along with her husband Dave, and their two boys, Connor (class of 2023) and Emmett (class of 2026), have been parishioners since 2009. 

Finn holds a Master’s of Education Degree in Language, Literacy, and Specialized Instruction from DePaul University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education, from DePaul as well.  She recently completed a graduate certificate in Education Technology from Michigan State University.  Finn has twenty years of experience in the field of education, and currently is the VP of Curriculum & Instruction for Ombudsman Educational Services, under the parent organization, ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education.

‘Jon’ became a Holy Trinity Board member in 2018. He and his wife Jovy have 3 children at Holy Trinity – Dylan, Ryan, and Anna. Jon has a graduate degree from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s from Loyola University Chicago. He has over 10 years in healthcare analysis.

Heidi is a new member of the Holy Trinity School Board this year. Heidi and her family moved to Westmont in 2012 and have been parishioners of Holy Trinity since 2016.

Heidi is a lifelong Chicagoan and is a product of both Catholic grade school and high school. She graduated from Roosevelt University with a bachelor's degree in management and a master's degree in marketing communications. An Illinois Accredited Paralegal, Heidi has extensive management experience and is the Legal Services Administrator for Loyola Medicine.

Heidi's daughter, Elise attends Holy Trinity and is in the 6th grade.

Mike and his wife Stacy live in Downers Grove and he is the Managing Partner of the New York Life Greater Chicago General Office. Multiple moves over the last 12 years led them to the Chicago area, although Mike was born in Chicago most of their lives they lived in the Phoenix area. They have three grown children, two grand-children with a third on the way.

Samantha is a nearly life-long parishioner of Holy Trinity and joined the school board in 2018. 

She is an award-winning Realtor® in the area, one half of the Homes By Jones team with her mother at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. It's Sam's mission to always promote Holy Trinity and to leave the world a better place. These days, she's honored to make a difference by helping clients buy and sell their homes all around the Chicagoland area. 
 
Sam is a 2005 graduate of Holy Trinity Catholic School and 2009 grad of  Benet Academy. She graduated magna cum laude at Benedictine University where she was editor-in-chief of the university's newspaper. While in college, she simultaneously worked at CBS 2 News in Chicago as a field producer and news desk associate, making her the youngest hire at Ch. 2 ever. From there, Sam became an on-air television news reporter  and anchor at an ABC News Station, covering Southern Illinois, Missouri and Kentucky. She lived and loved that dream, utilizing public speaking and writing skills learned at Holy Trinity, before transitioning to real estate full-time in 2014. 
 
Sam lives in Clarendon Hills with her husband, Chris, and fur-baby, Randy.

Jenny lives in Westmont with her husband Nevin and daughter Molly who is an 8th grader at Holy Trinity Catholic School.  Her family loves to be at the church and around the school and are involved with the Gardening Ministry together.  Jenny is a Eucharistic Minister to Bria Nursing home and facilitates the Virtus Protecting God’s Children class for school and church volunteers who work with children.  Jenny graduated from San Francisco State University with a BA in Psychology. She also holds an Associate Customer Service and Associate Life Management Institute designation.  She is the Agency Contracting Coordinator and Volunteers for Good Coordinator for New York Life Insurance Company’s Greater Chicago office.  The Volunteers for Good program serves local non-profits through volunteerism.  Subsequent team and community impact grants also benefit the organizations financially.   She has worked for New York Life for 19 years, first in California and then in Illinois, which is home.

Heather Charles

Heather is a new member of the Holy Trinity School Board this year.  Heather and her husband, Lawrence, live in Woodridge and have been parishioners of Holy Trinity since 2009.

Heather graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor's in Animal Science, and currently works as a Veterinary Technician at the University of Illinois at Chicago. 

Heather and Lawrence have three sons, Christopher (HT Class of 2020), Ryan (HT Class of 2023) and Brandon (future HT Tiger).

balcer.jpgChristopher Balcer - Political Liaison

Chris brings over 18 years of technical leadership across project teams in Financial Services, Healthcare, Educational Technology and Manufacturing. His primary focus has been on the implementation of core business solutions based on the Microsoft platform with a heavy emphasis on cloud technologies.

Over the past few years, Chris was the architect and team leader on an enterprise learning platform that consisted of several components including a custom reporting solution, mobile game-based content delivery and customized identity management. The platform was named the Microsoft Partner of the Year in Education based on the extensive use of Azure and Microsoft technologies.

Chris’ work as the technical and team leader has helped him to become the go-to resource on engagements to ensure the highest level of quality in delivery of business outcomes. He prefers to engage with clients at the deepest levels to build a partnership in order to limit the amount of risk while providing the most value to the client.
