May 20, 2012 Dear Friends in the Risen Lord, This is a letter that most pastors do not enjoy writing. A
few weeks ago I received a letter of resignation from our
principal, Mrs. Nicole Noverini. The Lord has blessed her
and her husband with the great joy and responsibility of
expecting another child in November. Their first child was
born in September of last year. It is with sadness that I have
accepted her resignation, but I understand and admire her
resolve to raise her children foremost. Sadly, a sign of the
times is that many place career ahead of family. Congratulations Don and Nicole Noverini for your decision to place your family first. I admire your decision. This affords me the opportunity to summarize how our elementary school is doing. Our enrollment is low by most standards. The Office of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Joliet has seriously challenged us to raise our enrollment to 200 students by the academic year of 2014-2015. We currently we have 12 new families enrolled for next year. This brings our enrollment to 165 students. Historically the summer months witness more students enrolling, approximately 15-20, and if this trend holds true we will be ever closer to meeting the Diocesan goal. My hope and prayer is that we will begin the 2012-2013 school year with at least 185 students. I hope that I am right! Consider Catholic Education for your children. I would like to share some subjective evaluation of our school program. First, I would like to thank Mrs. Nicole Noverini for her dedication to our school as a teacher and most recently as principal. Her dedication and desire to minister to the students is most obvious. Mrs. Nicole Noverini has been committed to raising the quality of curriculum, stressing the religious component of education, and always keeping me informed of school issues. I have enjoyed ministering with her and I wish her all the happiness and holiness that she and her family deserve. I would like to also take this opportunity to praise our faculty and staff for their dedication and talents. I am the type of pastor who relies often upon the advice and counsel of his staff, and therefore I need a staff that communicates with me and works together as a team. God has blessed me with such a staff at this parish. I believe that our faculty has worked together cohesively and shared their incredible talents among one another and among our student population. I am proud! A special thank you to all parents, guardians,
grandparents, parishioners, and all who help to provide the
financial assistance to manage the school. I know it is not
always easy! It is a challenge to afford Catholic education
today, but if you ever need proof of its worth, just talk to one
of our students and ask them about the value of
their education. They are grateful and inspiring! Yours in peace and joy, |
